Community expectations and
legislative guidelines dictate that the parks of today are no longer
just a place to play cricket and walk the dog. Our open spaces must meet
high standards and provide multiple functions. They may form vital
components of conservation strategies and water quality treatment
schemes, or provide opportunities for sustainable transport networks and
outdoor classrooms. All new parks must be well equipped, strategically
placed, easily maintained, and of the highest aesthetic quality. |
